AI is not only being used to automate components of contract review and for data mining, but also increasingly utilized as a way to manage e-discovery, conduct legal research, and execute regulatory compliance processes. This workshop will take a deep dive into current use cases of AI-powered (or intelligent automation-powered) legal technologies, showing how companies are tapping into the ability to extract metadata, identify entities and “understand” content, to streamline the increasing complexities of dealing with exploding amounts of data sources.

He clerked for the Honorable Michael Boudin, United States Court of Appeals, First Circuit. Jake then became a litigation associate at Ropes & Gray. He's been programming since he was 9 and worked full-time as a web developer before law school.

Noah holds a J.D. from the NYU School of Law, an A.M. from Brown University, and a B.A. with honours from McGill University.

Ryan has spent more than 20 years in legal technology. He has worked at legal tech vendors including Neota Logic and HighQ. He was the global head of innovation initiatives at Norton Rose Fulbright, and worked in IT and Knowledge Management at Fulbright & Jaworski, prior to their combination with NRF.

Ryan was a FastCase 50 recipient in 2015 and was inducted as a fellow in the College of Law Practice Management in 2018. He is a long-time contributor to the popular 3 Geeks and a Law Blog.

Andrew Arruda is a Canadian entrepreneur and attorney. Prior to cofounding ROSS Intelligence, Arruda worked at a Toronto litigation boutique and with the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Development in Lisbon, Portugal. Arruda is proud to serve on the Board of the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System (IAALS) as well serve as the Subcommittee Chair of the Alternative Business Services and Multi-Disciplinary Practices subcommittee of the State Bar of California’s Task Force on Access Through Innovation of Legal Service (ATILS).

As Littler's first Chief Data Analytics Officer, Aaron D. Crews brings an extensive background focused on the intersection of technology, business and the law.

Aaron manages the operations of Littler’s data analytics practice and leads the development and implementation of technology-based solutions that provide value to the firm and its clients. He also uses data analytics tools to facilitate process improvements and efficiencies, and assist in protocols for the secure handling of data.

He also has extensive experience conducting pay equity audits for all types of employers, from start-ups to Fortune 50 companies, and helped develop the Littler Pay Equity Assessment™, including counseling employers on a broad range of state and federal issues related to pay equity, from compliance, to updating policies and job descriptions, to training managers and recruiters, and more.

Aaron previously served as one of the firm's eDiscovery counsel. In that capacity, he also assisted with developing strategies for efficient and effective data harvesting, review and production, and implementing cost-shifting and cost reduction strategies.
