Throughout his career, Colin has seen technology as a key driver in improving how legal services are performed. Because his career has spanned industries, he witnessed myriad issues, from a systemic lack of interest in technology to the high cost of legal services barring entry to consumers. Now, his mission is to bridge the gap between the tech world and the legal world, advocating for the ways technology can be a useful tool for the lawyer’s toolbelt rather than a fear-inducing obstacle to effective legal work.

Colin’s practice experience spans e-discovery, compliance, and corporate transactions work. His in- house experience has highlighted the various problems in-house lawyers face and the processes they put in place to address these problems and to collaborate with other functions.

Throughout his career, Colin has also been driven by communication and developing methods to effectively empower, inform, and inspire others not only regarding the law and legal services, but also tech, interdisciplinary collaboration, and process improvement.

As an experienced General Counsel with two stints at late-stage growth companies, Ronak Ray leads all in-house legal matters for maturing businesses. He supported TaskUs’ board as corporate secretary and 18,000 people globally while managing to close a $500 million transaction with Blackstone before joining another scaling technology company at Pantheon where he now serves as their General Counsel. Most recently, Ronak was appointed as Executive Managing Director of modCounsel who provides concierge legal service to in-house teams from early stage to publicly listed as a minority and women-owned global practice.

Heather Nevitt is the Editor-in-Chief of Corporate Counsel, Inside Counsel and Global Leaders in Law. Heather brings Valuable content to the various publications sites she manages while building communities and developing new event ideas to engage readers.

Heather joined ALM in 2005 and was the Editor-in-Chief of Texas Lawyer. Before joining ALM, she practiced law and earned her JD from Michigan State University College of Law in East Lansing, Michigan.
