Rashmi Chandra

Rashmi heads the Intellectual Property/Information Technology law practice group at Aetna Inc., one of the nation’s premier provider of health care, dental, pharmacy, disability insurance. She oversees all legal and strategic enforcement and maintenance issues relating to the Aetna enterprise and its subsidiaries’ intellectual property assets. In addition, her work focuses on brand counseling, IP licensing, advertising reviews, data security, technology and software legal issues, oversight of the patent portfolio and social media.

Rashmi graduated with a J.D. as a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar from Columbia Law School. She began her career at Kirkland & Ellis and subsequently joined W.W. Grainger, Inc. as Senior Corporate Counsel before joining Aetna.

Lauren Ingegneri

IP Counsel
Abiomed, Inc.

Lauren Ingegneri is Intellectual Property Counsel at Abiomed, Inc., maker of the Impella? heart pumps. She is one of three in-house counsel at Abiomed, Inc. and has been working for the Company for nearly two years during a period of high growth. She provides advice to the business on branding strategy, domain names, and trains Abiomed’s marketing department on proper trademark usage. Lauren also manages IP litigation for the Company and supervises outside counsel regarding Abiomed’s patent and trademark portfolios.

Prior to joining Abiomed, Lauren was an IP Associate at the Boston law firm Nutter McClennen and Fish LLP.

Sudipta Rao

Sudipta is the Global Head of Trademarks, Domain Names and Copyright, Oncology within the Innovative Medicines Division of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp., located in East Hanover, New Jersey. Novartis is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world based in Basel, Switzerland.

Sudipta is a senior legal advisor with 14 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and has led multinational teams comprising lawyers, paralegals and specialists. She has spent much of her career advising pharmaceutical companies on trademark, trade dress, copyright protection and enforcement issues. In her current role, Sudipta counsels her business clients and sr. management on the value of trademarks and copyrights in the pharma industry, manages a large and active portfolio of trademark projects globally and engages in company educational initiatives and policy discussions. She joined Novartis in 2012 as Executive Director, Sr. Trademark Counsel.

Prior to joining Novartis, Sudipta was Sr. Trademark Attorney at Pfizer and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals managing diverse portfolios in the pharmaceuticals, consumer healthcare and animal health businesses. Sudipta began her IP career at NY Law firms, Lewin & Laytin, Graham & James and Greenberg Traurig, where she was an IP litigator and engaged in trademark prosecution and transactional work.

Sudipta holds a BA in political science from Stony Brook University - SUNY and received her law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and in the Southern District of New York.
