    Jack Biggerstaff has been a registered process server for 30 years. For 29 years, he has been with Janney & Janney Attorney Service, Los Angeles, where he is Vice-President and Process Manager. He is a member and Certified Process Server of CALSPro (California Association of Legal Support Professionals). He has served on the Board of Directors and is past Chair of vairous committees of C.A.P.P.S. (California Association of Photocopiers and Process Servers). Mr. Biggerstaff has spoken on panels regarding both pre- and post-Judgment service and levies.

    Louis E. Kempinsky


    Peitzman, Weg & Kempinsky

    After graduating from Rice University and Columbia University School of Law, Mr. Kempinsky joined Gendel, Raskoff, Shapiro & Quittner. He later joined Tuttle & Taylor, and after that was a partner with Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP. In January 2002, he participated in forming Peitzman, Weg & Kempinsky LLP.

    Mr. Kempinsky's practice encompasses trial and appellate work in both state and federal courts. Mr. Kempinsky's practice areas include bankruptcy, business torts, commercial, environmental, franchise, real estate, trademark and other intellectual property. Mr. Kempinsky also has broad experience representing creditors and debtors, in bankruptcy cases and out of court workouts.

    Mr. Kempinsky currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Remedies Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and sits on the Board of Directors of the Constitutional Rights Foundation and the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum. He also sits as a judge pro tempore and lectures frequently on matters relating to business litigation and trial practice.

    Alan J. Cohen

    Mr. Cohen is a graduate of Clark University, Worcester, Massachusetts, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1973. From 1971 to 1972, Mr. Cohen attended the University of Exeter, England. He graduated from The John Marshall Law School, Chicago, with a Juris Doctor Degree in 1977, and is admitted to the Illinois Bar.

    Mr. Cohen was admitted to the California Bar in 1982, and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the Central District of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Cohen is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and its sections for commercial law and remedies. Before joining Tyre Kamins Katz & Granof, Mr. Cohen was a partner of a prominent Los Angeles firm specializing in textile and apparel practice in Los Angeles and New York.

    Prior to attending law school, Mr. Cohen was associated with the retail menswear division of a leading Southern California department store chain, and finished first in its executive development training program. He is an invited member of the Executive Committee of the Remedies Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Financial Lawyers Conference, Bankruptcy Forum, and Textile Professional Club, having served on its Executive Board and as President.

    Mr. Cohen's fields of expertise are in the areas of commercial, business, and intellectual property litigation, leasing law and provisional and post judgment remedies.

    Commissioner Gross received his BA degree from UCLA and attended Loyola Law School where he obtained his JD degree. Commissioner Gross served as a Deputy District Attorney in the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office for five years. After working in private practice, he became a Commissioner of the Los Angeles Superior Court in 1988. Since 1992, he has handled post-Judgment matters in Dept. 1-A, where he has ruled on an extremely wide range of post-Judgment matters in the Superior Court, Central District.
