Karta Legal LLC

Lourdes Slater is the CEO of Karta Legal LLC, a female-owned consultancy firm with a focus on legal technology services and IT. In sharp contrast with other providers, KL’s aim is to change management through design thinking and process improvement using Lean Six Sigma and Agile Legal Project Management techniques.

She is a law graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and a seasoned litigator with over 25 years of practice in federal and state courts, as well as in international arbitrations. Over the last 12 years, Lourdes’s practice focus has been technology acquisition and implementation, electronic discovery, data and legal project management. For the last eight years, Lourdes has lead the data, discovery and vendor management in dozens of RMBS cases at G&E. Prior to that, she led discovery efforts at Baker Hostetler for the Madoff Trustee.

A team builder and a skilled negotiator, she has a solid track record of saving clients millions of dollars in the technology space. Lourdes is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Sensei. And she is a frequent speaker and educator on Lean and Agile methodologies, data management and privacy, e-Discovery, and legal technology, including artificial intelligence.

Lourdes was named a 2019 Trailblazer by the New York Law Journal.
