Description

The explosion of online platforms and retailers has created new channels of information exchange and product distribution. From Amazon and Facebook to eBay, YouTube, and similar online platforms, IP owners are increasingly finding products and content infringing their rights online. In some cases, the IP owner can engage the direct seller or provider to address claims of infringement. More often, the IP owner needs to work with an intermediary, such as the online platform provider or a host provider. The remedies can vary depending on the potential target, so consideration needs to be given as to where action is most likely to be effective.

This program provides a panel of experts discussing options and strategies for responding to IP infringement promoted through various online platforms. The panel will provide a foundational overview on remedies and tactics for addressing online IP infringement. They will also provide guidance and recommendations for effectively and efficiently responding to different infringement situations detected through online platforms.

This program was recorded on September 24th, 2019.
