In addition to practicing law, David Lefkowitz also is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Georgia Law School, where he teaches Legal Malpractice Law. The course explores legal malpractice law, policy and problems. In addition to civil liability claims, it covers approaches to managing risks, avoiding malpractice lawsuits and avoiding bar complaints. The course also deals with malpractice insurance and defenses to claims for legal malpractice.

David Lefkowitz earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and his law degree from the Emory University School of Law. David Lefkowitz carries the highest rating from Martindale-Hubbell (AV) which is given only to those attorneys with the highest legal ability and adherence to professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence. David also is a Super Lawyer as determined by peer nominations and evaluations.

David Lefkowitz has been handling legal malpractice claims for 25+ years. Several years ago, he was invited to be an Adjunct Professor at UGA School of Law, where he teaches legal malpractice law, ethics and risk management. David handles claims on behalf of multi-national, publicly traded companies, small businesses and individuals, all having been significantly damaged by the errors or omissions of their lawyers. His clientele also includes some of the top law firms in the southeast. These firms consult with David on issues such as conflicts of interest, billing disputes, law firm divorces, etc.

Mr. Lefkowitz is frequently invited to speak at continuing legal education seminars on legal malpractice, ethics and professionalism. He is chairman and moderator of the annual seminar “Professional and Ethical Dilemmas in Litigation,” in which Supreme Court Justices, Court of Appeals Judges, Trial Judges, Ethics Experts and Practicing Attorneys address ethical and professional challenges that lawyers routinely deal with in their profession. He also frequently writes articles for legal publications on the topics of legal malpractice and legal ethics.
