Due diligence for real estate transactions is a bit of an enigma. What is its goal? What does it entail? What value does it add to a real estate sales transaction? These questions often arise for lawyers and, even more commonly, for less sophisticated (or impatient) parties. We invite you to spend your time with us considering why and how we undertake due diligence when buying or selling real estate.

This program was recorded on January 11th, 2017.

Provided By: American Bar Association

Agenda
  • The “process” of real estate due diligence
  • “Universal” due diligence issues – ownership, title, survey, environmental, permits
  • Tailoring due diligence to specific transactions – existing buildings or new developments
  • Knowing when enough is enough – cost/benefit analysis of due diligence
Runtime: 1 hour and 27 minutes
Recorded: January 11, 2017
