The legal marketplace is undergoing great change. Legal departments and law firms must respond to that change with collaboration strategies that increase intra-departmental and firm efficiencies as well as efficiency between client legal departments and their outside counsel. This panel will discuss real-world and aspirational examples of collaboration from both the legal department and law firm perspective using web 2.0 technologies.

    Clark Cordner is the Director of Practice and Client Services at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP, where he is responsible for helping the firm deliver differentiated legal services that are enabled by technology and alternative workflow arrangements. He also is responsible for the firm's e-discovery and document review services at the firm's Global Operations Center. Clark was previously the Director of Client and Practice Services at WilmerHale and Director of Practice Services at King & Spalding. He previously practiced as a litigator and founded successful software development and professional services consultancies. Clark has graduate degrees from Brigham Young University in both law and management and is licensed in Utah and Washington, DC.

    Sandy Owen is Operations Director for Legal and Corporate Affairs at Intel Corporation. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day business operations, she is responsible for the strategy and execution of the technical solutions (tools and processes) to support Intel¿s in-house legal department. Ms. Owen joined Intel in 1995. Since that time, she has held a number of positions in knowledge and information management within Intel's Technology Manufacturing and Information Technology groups focusing primarily on business process improvement and the development of information systems.

    Risa Schwartz, Head of Knowledge Management, Legal, Cisco RISA SCHWARTZ is Cisco Systems¿ Head of Knowledge Management, Legal. Her mandate is to set the knowledge management (KM) strategy and create resources that allow each Cisco legal professional to access the institutional knowledge of the entire department to provide industry-leading client service. Prior to joining Cisco, Risa was Manager of Knowledge Management at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, and is an attorney who practiced law prior to joining the ranks of KM professionals. She earned a J.D. from UCLA School of Law, is admitted to the State Bar of California, and is a graduate of Yale University where she earned a B.A. degree in English.
