Recently Matt Cutts, Google's "Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Sheriff" in charge, announced some algorithm updates that, when implemented, will leave many law firms wondering what happened to their websites.  Google has discovered a couple of large link networks they are planning to take down within the next few weeks and months; they are not tolerating unethical web service companies and websites trying to cheat their search engine! Already some attorneys have seen a drop in their status through their analytics due to this update.
Recently Google launched the Penguin 2.0 update which is affecting many legal websites in a negative way. Many attorneys do not realize their websites are cheating the system because attorneys do not create them.  These issues, if left unchecked, could subject attorneys to unforeseen litigation.

Panelist Biographies

Danielle Ruderman

Danielle Ruderman is director of research and development, and has been with Foster Web Marketing since early 2007. She oversees the SEO and content divisions for FWM, as well as the development teams for client websites and DSS, the company's proprietary content and contact management system.
